The Final Days of Rafting Season Are Almost Here

It’s hard to believe, but another rafting season is already coming to an end! As summer begins to wind down in the Columbia Valley, we’re getting ready for the final days on the river — and there’s still time to join us for one last adventure.

This year has been especially meaningful for all of us at Kootenay River Runners as we celebrated our 50th season on the river. Five decades of wilderness & whitewater, mountain scenery, big smiles, and unforgettable memories would not have been possible without the incredible guests who have joined us over the years.

Thank you for making our 50th season so special! Whether you’ve been rafting with us for years or joined us for the very first time this summer, we’re grateful you chose to spend part of your adventure with Kootenay River Runners.

There’s Still Time to Get on the River

Our rafting season is coming to a close soon, with the following final dates:

  • Toby Creek – Panorama Mountain Resort: August 29
  • Kootenay River – Radium Hot Springs: September 13
  • Kicking Horse River – Golden: September 13

If you haven’t made it out on the river yet this summer — or if you’re looking for one last splash before the season ends — late summer and early fall can be an amazing time to raft.

As the busy summer months fade away, the rivers take on a different feel. Crystal clear & turquoise waters, a more relaxed pace, smaller crowds, and the opportunity to see more wildlife all make late-season rafting a unique experience. The temperatures may be a little cooler, but the scenery is spectacular, and there’s something special about enjoying the mountains as the season begins to change. Don’t worry about the chill – we have all the gear to keep you comfortable.

Make a Fall Getaway of It

And the fun doesn’t have to end when the rafting season does! Fall is a beautiful time to visit the Columbia Valley and the surrounding Rocky Mountains.

As the leaves begin to change, the area comes alive with incredible fall colours and crisp mountain air. There are plenty of ways to enjoy the region, from hiking and mountain biking to scenic drives, wildlife viewing, hot springs, golfing, and exploring local shops, restaurants, and attractions. Fall is also a wonderful time to slow down, take in the scenery, and enjoy the quieter side of the mountains.

So why not plan a getaway? Come for the rafting, stay for the scenery, and enjoy everything the area has to offer this time of year.

Don’t Wait Until Next Summer!

With our final rafting dates quickly approaching, now is the time to join us before it’s too late! Whether you’re planning a last-minute adventure with friends, a family outing, or a fall getaway in the mountains, we’d love to have you along for one more trip down the river.

Give us a call to chat with our team about remaining availability and any last-minute deals. We’ll help you find the best way to get out on the water before another great season comes to an end.
